The PCS elementary students voted for two special days they wanted to celebrate in November and the winners were … teddy bear day and donut day! We had fun with our teddy bears and stuffed animals last Tuesday, giving certificates for the biggest, smallest, softest, cutest, and most loved. We are celebrating Donut Day this Monday, November 14, by serving homemade donuts during the lunch period. We invite parents of elementary students to join us in this celebration Monday between 12:00 and 12:30 in the lunch room.

With both the volleyball and soccer teams playing in the state tournament this Friday, we have decided to cancel classes for all students in grades 1 – 12. Many families are planning to travel to Green Bay to cheer for our players. GO FALCONS!!!

The elementary students had a pizza fundraiser at lunch today to benefit Assurance Women’s Center, a pro-life organization in Appleton, Wisconsin. There were 5 moms and 5 dads who were able to be here and have pizza with their children. A great time was had by all, and more than $75 was raised to help the Women’s Center. A great big THANK YOU goes out to Justin Priest for having the vision for this fundraiser and to his mom for all the work involved in coordinating it!

Several have asked me recently about the plan for PCS for Friday, so I thought would try to clarify to all. PCS will be in session for pretty much a normal day of school on Friday, even though Northland students are having a Day of Rest. To adequately cover our academic material within the structure of our calendar, it is very important that we continue to make forward progress. We know there are days ahead when we will need time for sports obligations, possible snow days, and the like.
The exception to the “normal school day”, as mentioned above, is a ministry opportunity that the secondary students are planning to take on Friday afternoon. After a normal morning of classes, the students and teachers from grades 7 through 12 will be traveling to Niagara to visit a couple of elderly folk to do some yard work and odd jobs around their homes. This is in cooperation with the Chain Reaction program run by Marinette County, which PCS has often used as a community outreach. Please pray with us that we can demonstrate a love to the folks that we will be helping on Friday afternoon.
