Educators and parents both know that academics is just one tool on the students’ belt. Providing more tools better prepares the students for their future. At Pioneer Christian, it is our desire to prepare the students not only academically but also physically and socially for the rigors of everyday life. Pioneer’s fine arts and sports programs are two more tools the student can add to their tool belt.

The fine arts program at PCS is developed to teach students how to identify quality pieces of music and works of art. Students are intentionally exposed to quality music, art, and speech. Opportunities to be a member of an ensemble or drama group are often ministry-driven. That is, the purpose for participating is to gain experience in using developed gifts and abilities to be a blessing to others, not to gain the approval of performance judges alone. Our choir prepares a variety of music for several concerts and competitions throughout the year. Those who choose to join a musical group realize that their presence during practice and at the time of performance is critical to the success of the choir or group. Attendance by group members is therefore required at all concerts and competitions. All students in grades 7-9 are required to participate in choir as a 2-day class. Handchimes will be an elective course for grades 7–12 as a 1-day class.

*Handchimes and vocal ensemble groups may require auditions.
